The Northern Potter Art Department traveled to Ulysses November 25th & 26th to paint business windows with a holiday theme. Mrs. Kathleen Tilton of the Ulysses Area Improvement Association coordinated the project with Northern Potter School District. Students painted holiday art on the Corner Café, the Ulysses Library, Moon's Farm Yard, Hamilton's Laundromat, the Ulysses Borough Office, First Citizen's Community Bank, the U.S. Post Office, Downey's Restaurant, The Hair Company, and Creative Style Salon. The Northern Potter Art Department traveled to Genesee to paint business windows with a holiday theme on December 4th & 5th. Mr. Scott Graham coordinated the project with Mrs. Sue Williams. Students painted the windows of Reeds Market, the Acorn, the Genesee Fire Hall, First Citizen's Community Bank, Northern Tier Thrift Store, U.S. Post Office, Audrey Kio's Restaurant, and the Genesee Library. The 98th Pennsylvania Farm show being held from January 4th through January 11th, 2014 at the PA Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the US. It now encompasses 24 acres under one roof and attracts over 400,000 visitors.
Approximately 400 junior market swine were shown. Only 180 qualified for the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Junior Livestock Sale.
Three Northern Potter students all members of Headwaters FFA represented Potter County at this prestigious agriculture event.
Noell Nichols, a sophomore at Northern Potter High School and daughter of Greg and Lori Andruchowsky and the late Ronnie Nichols showed her 255 pound market hog to a 5th place win in Crossbred Weight Division 10 and qualified for the 2014 Farm Show Scholarship Junior Livestock Sale.
Tyler Harris, a senior at Northern Potter High School and son of Jodie North Harris, grandson of Anne and Phil Clark showed his 234 pound market hog to a 6th place win in Crossbred Weight Division 2 and qualified for the 2014 Farm Show Scholarship Junior Livestock Sale.
Sabrina Williams, a junior at Northern potter High School and daughter of Patsy and Thomas Williams showed her 260 pound market hog to a 7th place win in Crossbred Weight Division 12 and qualified for the 2014 Farm Show Scholarship Junior Livestock Sale.
